Christopher “Chris” Lee Wilkerson, Jr. of Durant, Okla. passed away on Dec. 13, 2020 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 17. Chris was born on Sept. 2, 2003 to Christopher Wilkerson and Catherine Brown in Joplin, Missouri.
He was a student at Durant High School. He was a loving and happy child. He would change the attitude of a whole room just by walking in. He also enjoyed anything to do with animals.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Wilkerson; sister, Docia Wilkerson; great-grandfathers, Hershel Dickens and Robert Earl Cook, and his great-grandmother, Lorane Mae Cook.
Left to cherish the memory of Chris are his father, Christopher Wilkerson of Durant, Okla.; mother, Catherine Brown and husband Dale of Durant, Okla.; brother, Michael Cook of Durant, Okla.; grandmother, Mary Cook of Durant, Okla.; grandfather, Dennis Cook of DeQueen, Ark.; great-grandmother, Mary Dickens of California; aunts: Demetra McBrayer of Durant, Okla., Melissa Brown and husband Cam, of Durant, Okla., Rebecca Anderson and husband Bart of Denison, Texas, Cristal Cook of Fort Smith, Ark., Melinda Gross and husband Denis of Denton, Texas, and Dennise Cook of Fresno, Calif.; and uncle Jim Cook of DeQueen, Ark.
A family hour will be held on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 from 7-8 p.m. in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel with Rev. Mark Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, in Durant, Okla.
