Choctaw tribal members to be honored on Veterans Day

Choctaw Nation

TVSHKA HOMMA, Okla. – The Choctaw Veterans Day Ceremony is set for Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m. in the Arts & Crafts Building on the Historic Choctaw Capitol Grounds at Tvshka Homma. Choctaws who have served in any branch of military service are encouraged to attend the annual event. Family members, friends, and the public also are invited.

In addition to words of gratitude and inspiration from Choctaw officials and other speakers, Choctaw Royalty, Choctaw elder singers, and the Talihina High School Marching Band will display their talents.

The ceremony will honor Choctaw tribal members who have served in uniform. Choctaw veterans from across Oklahoma and other states, and veterans from World War II to the present help make it one of the most well-attended activities sponsored by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma each year.

Veterans may enter drawings for door prizes, including a hunting trip to the Choctaw Hunting Lodge. Lunch will be provided for everyone attending.
