Choctaw Nation to hold special Memorial Day ceremony

DURANT – The Choctaw Nation is holding a Memorial Day ceremony Friday, May 27 to honor and remember Choctaw veterans who lost their lives while serving in the military. The ceremony includes a special presentation with Assistant Chief Jack Austin, Jr. and Korean Consulate General Myung Soo Ahn will present the Ambassador for Peace Medal to Choctaw veterans.

The commemorative medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to American service men and women who served during the Korean War from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953, or participated in UN peacekeeping operations until 1955
