Charles Louis Davis passed from this life on Monday, January 8, 2024 in Denison, Texas at the age of 89. Charles was born Friday, January 12, 1934 in Durant to Alfred Louis Davis and Edith Merle (Bledsoe) Davis.
Charles was raised and graduated from Durant High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force that spanned from July 14, 1952 until his retirement on February 28, 1973. He had a distinguished and honorable military career as he retired as a Master Sergeant. Charles married Dolores Hargrove on January 2, 1985. Charles was a true patriarch of the Davis family and respected by many. After his military career, he was employed by Southeastern Oklahoma State University as the professor of Aircraft maintenance. Charles and Dolores are members of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Marie Montgomery; and brother, John Edward Davis.
Charles leaves behind his loving wife, Dolores; daughter, Debora Goodrum; son, Michael Davis; step-daughters, Donna Luttrull and Kathy Baggett; sister, Linda Sue Brown; brother, Larry Wayne Davis; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel. Mickey Davis will officiate and Layne Heitz will be the song leader. Pallbearers to assist at the funeral home will be Michael Davis, Alan Brown, Wil Montgomery, John Lazano, Matt Davis, and Joey Weger. Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard will perform full military honors at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
