Cathryn Fara Jackson was born in Durant, Okla. on March 11, 1953 to William (Pete) and Doris Anderson Jackson. She died on Jan. 28, 2021.
Cathy graduated from Durant High School in 1971. She was married to Jimmy Grandstaff on Oct. 16, 1971. They lived in Durant and Del City areas as well as Aurora, Colo. before settling in Midwest City. They later moved to Warwick, Okla. where they built a house and have lived for for 38 years.
She worked in insurance and was an underwriter up until she retired. She loved to read, write, watch true crime shows and listen to blues music. She had a tremendous love for her dogs and was very passionate about dog rescues and fostering.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; her daughter, Amber and husband Zane; son, Josh and wife Maranda; sisters: Sandra and husband Dale and Debbie and husband Paul; grandchildren: Keaton, Maleah, Zachary, Jackson, Paige, Darlene and Alex; nieces, Kristin and Autumn and nephews, Matt and Tyler, and her beloved dogs, Belle, Bruiser, Coco, Gypsy and Diesel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Doris Jackson; her sister, Karen Adcock and her dogs Scout, Ozzy and Freckles.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. with Jr. Smith officiating. The service will be for family and close friends only. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Okla.
