Carolyn married Kenneth Bond on Oct. 15, 1965 in Durant. They have lived in Bryan County most of her life. Carolyn worked in customer service when Kmart first opened in Durant. After the store’s closing, she continued to work at the Kmart in Sherman until her retirement.
Carolyn enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, going shopping, cooking, and finding bargains at antique shops. She was a Mother to all and passionately loved her grandkids. Her biggest joy was her great-grandson, Aiden. Carolyn and Kenneth attended Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Cody Bond; sister, Lynda Broyles Winters; and brother, Paul Broyles.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; children, Darrell Bond, of Durant, Michelle Bond-Avery and husband, Derrall, of Telephone, Texas, and Kristie Bond of Durant; siblings, Lewis Broyles and wife, Paula, of Gainesville, Texas, Wayne Broyles and wife, Maggie, of Durant, Rodger Broyles and wife, Sherida, of Mead, Okla., Patricia Stafford and husband, Jack, of Durant, Juanita Green of Durant, and Gene Grounds and wife, Jackie, of Bennington, Okla.; grandchildren: Dustin Bond, Jordin Turner and Jon Greenhaw, Kirstin Turner and Shelby Finley; one great-grandson, Aiden Greenhaw; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
