CALERA – The first full week of summer brings with it a new place to eat in Calera. A lot of people have already taken the time to stop by.

Simple Simon’s Pizza is now open for business at 711 N. McKinley Ave. in Calera.
Owner and manager Karla Bennett said the restaurant has had a lot of traffic in its first few days.
“We had a soft opening on Monday and Tuesday was our Grand Opening,” Bennett said. “It’s been extremely busy and I’m loving it.”
Bennett said the idea to open a franchise in Calera came from the owner of the Simple Simon’s in Kingston, who had visited with her about it.
“Everyone come out and see us and enjoy some good buffett and good salad bar from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. seven days and on Tuesday evenings from 5-8 p.m.”
The restaurant is also open with the full menu from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
