The Calera Police Department appreciates the Calera School Board for their resolution that allows law enforcement officers to work from any Calera School facility by using the Wi-Fi to complete police reports and to eat meals at the school.

“In today’s law enforcement most law enforcement officers can complete their reports from a laptop computer that can be mounted in the patrol car or removed from a docking station and taken inside buildings,” said Calera Chief of Police Don Hyde. “Calera Police will be using the schools to complete basic reports and will encourage our law enforcement partners to join us anytime they are close to Calera and need a safe place to complete their reports.”

Calera Police applauds the Calera Public Schools and all of the members of the school board for the pro-law enforcement stance that will allow officers to interact with educators and students.
