Calera man injured in two-vehicle collision

BRYAN COUNTY – Three people were hurt in a collision in Bryan County late on Saturday evening.

Terry Conder, 61, of Calera, was driving a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis southbound on Oklahoma Highway 48, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Lucas Chaves, 34, of Ada, was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound on Highway 48 at that same time, according to the report.

Conder’s vehicle departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and crossed the center line, striking the Ram 1500.. The Ram 1500 departed the roadway to the right, striking a ditch and rolling 1 ½ times.

Conder was transported by Bryan County EMS to AllianceHealth Hospital in Durant and admitted in stable condition with leg injuries.

Chaves was transported by Bryan County EMS to AllianceHealth and treated and released.

A passenger in the Ram 1500, Francisca Chaves, 49, of Ada, was transported by Bryan County EMS to AllianceHealth and treated and released.

Seatbelts were equipped in both vehicles, but not in use by Conder, according to the report.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Bryan County EMS and Durant Fire Department.
