Calera man dead after motorcycle, SUV collide

BRYAN COUNTY – One man died Monday afternoon after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV approximately two miles west of Durant on U.S. Highway 70.

Joseph Craig, 32, of Calera, was traveling west on Highway 70 when his 2012 Honda motorcycle struck a 2011 Chevy Suburban driven by Peggy Cuesta, 41, of Durant, at about 4:55 p.m. as she was attempting to turn left from private drive to go eastbound on Highway 70, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Craig was pronounced dead at the scene from head, trunk internal, and trunk external injuries, by
M.E. Investigator John Miller.

Cuesta and two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Craig was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
