Caleb Ludlam

Caleb Hayes Ludlam, 30, entered into rest on June 21, 2021. He was born on March 26, 1991, to Gayle Cook and Larry Ludlam in Raceland, La.

Caleb graduated from Sherman High School with many honors. He attended Grayson County College and was accepted to, UNT, Baylor University. His studies focused on accounting, but he found his passion in Engineering.

He worked for Kinetic Solutions in Van Alstyne, Texas for nine years, working his way up to General Manager of Engineering. He considered his coworkers to be his extended family. Caleb loved his kids and the friends he took on as his chosen family. He had a passion for board games, video games, and music.

Caleb always put others before himself. He was truly someone you could count on if you needed a friend or were in a tight spot and he never thought badly of people in hard times. He lived his life in the riches of the heart and mind, and although he was only with us for a short time, he spent that time touching the lives of everyone he met. Caleb invested in the wellbeing of others and always, without fault, fought to see the good in people, even when they could not see it in themselves.

He is preceded in death by his Granny Dot, Papa Cookie, stepbrother Josh, and uncle Jimmy Cook.

Here to cherish his memories are his wife, Dia (Daley) of the home; his children: Aidan McCann, Seraphim Donaldson, and Lillian Ludlam-McCann; mother, Gayle Cook; brother, Jimmy Don Ludlam, wife Ashley and niece Elizabeth; stepfather, Dave Douglas; brother, Davy, grandmother (Memaw), Frances Cook; father, Larry Ludlam; brother, Jonathan Ludlam; sister, Melissa Shaver and husband Dustin; as well as many aunts and cousins that he was incredibly fond of. Also, Caleb leaves behind his online board gaming, video gaming, and streaming communities.

Caleb had one good drop kick left in him and even though his fight is over, he courageously reserved his final blow to find a cure for the monster (Ewing Sarcoma) that affects hundreds of children and adolescents every year. He gave his body to the UT Southwest program to be an armament for every child and family that faces this beast. So, a special Thank you goes out to the researchers at UT Southwest, Dr. Nadler of Texas Oncology, Hanna Compton PA, Faith Presbyterian, T- Boone Pickens, Dr. Rajack, and Dr. Singh. Nurses and Healthcare workers Claire Flores, Paige, Mike, Lisa, Averie, Odessa, Elsa, Russ, Travis, Joyce, Nelma, Emily, Isabelle, Lauren (and her baby), Tamika, Lori, Andrew, Michelle, Darlene, Maria, Tatiana, Kacie Van Zandt, Theresa, Mr. Phil, Tammy, Luanne, and many more.
