ATOKA COUNTY – One person was injured in a single vehicle accident in Atoka County on Thursday night.
Kyle Emerson, 37, of Caddo, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado on Folsom Road approximately 3 miles south of Caney at about 10:41 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
He was driving on private property when he looked back and struck a tree. There were four passengers in the pickup.
Dakota Pryor, 28, of Caddo, was taken by AirEvac to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in McKinney, Texas, and admitted in stable condition with head injuries. The other occupants of the vehicle refused medical treatment.
The cause of the accident was distraction and there was an odor of alcohol in the vehicle, according to the report. Seatbelts were not in use.
The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office and Caney Fire Department.
