ATOKA COUNTY – One man was fatally injured on Saturday afternoon in a wreck west of Atoka.
Demario Gray, 20 of Caddo, was driving a 2007 Chevy Silverado north on Old Broom Road a half-mile north of Oklahoma Highway 7 at about 2:10 p.m. when he went over a hill and lost control of the vehicle, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The truck departed the road to the left, overturned multiple times and then struck a tree.
Gray was extricated by Atoka Fire Department using hurst equipment. He was pronounced dead at the scene from head, and trunk internal injuries.
It is unknown as to whether the seat belt was in use, according to the report.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The OHP was assisted by Atoka County Sheriff’s Office, Atoka Fire Department, Wards Chapel Fire Department, Atoka County EMS, and Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
