Brenda Kay Robison, 63, of Durant, Okla., passed away on Jan. 13, 2021. She was born to Cob and Ina Robison on Jan. 4, 1958 in Durant.
Growing up in Lewisville, Texas, Brenda had the nickname Sunshine because would spread sunshine wherever she would go. Brenda attended Lewisville High School, and later in life received her Cosmetology certification from Aladdin Beauty College in Denton, Texas, where she was a cosmetologist for several years.
Brenda moved to Bryan County in 1993 and was a long-time nail technician in the area. She also worked for Choctaw Casino dealing blackjack, which she loved, and the last several years she was the full-time caregiver for her mother. She attended The River Church in Durant and she loved her church family. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies, painting, and going swimming with her grandkids.
Brenda enjoyed being around people and hearing their stories, she loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. She has been described as very boisterous and outgoing; you always knew she was in the room because you could hear her over everyone else. She was loved by so many, and you may not have agreed with her or even liked her sometimes, but to know her was to love her and appreciate her straight-forwardness. Brenda and her smile made this world a brighter place and will be truly missed.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father Colbert Ed Robison, her brothers Larry Robison, Gary Robison, and her son-in-law Brandon Fox.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Ina Robison of the home; her daughters, Tanya Fox Hall and husband Jeremy Hall of Tucson, Ariz., Nicole Sprabary and husband Raymond Richards of Durant; her grandchildren: Kristofer Fox, Taylor Fox, Lainie Fox, Benny Marshall, and Inabell Richards all of Durant, Hailee Jones of
Medicine Park, Okla.; her former husband, Gary Sprabary of Greenville, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
Funeral services are set at The River Church in Durant, on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at 2 p.m. with burial at Bennington Cemetery to follow, family and close friends will gather before service in the fellowship hall at 1 p.m.
