Brenda Lee (Jones) Embry, a resident of Hendrix, Okla., and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, joined her Savior on Sept. 18, 2021, at the age of 60. She was born in Bonham, Texas to James Henry Jones and Wilma Lee (Chesser) Jones on Oct. 29, 1960.
Brenda married her husband, Mike Embry, in Sherman, Texas, on Aug. 5, 1977.
Brenda loved her family above all else and dedicated her life to caring for them. She liked to crochet, make soap, baking delicious desserts, and singing karaoke. She and Mike enjoyed trips to the mountains, and spending time with her friends and family.
Mrs. Embry is survived by her husband Mike of the home; daughter, Jennifer Winnett and husband Jeremy of Colbert, Okla.; son, Michael Embry and wife Charlene of Durant, Okla.; brother, Doug Jones and wife Ann of Ector, Texas; cherished grandchildren: Sarah McBeth and husband Drew of Durant, Okla., Dylan Hawks of Calera, Okla., Nathan Hawks of Calera, Okla., Kierra Hawks of Calera, Okla., Logan Hawks of Calera, Okla., Will Winnett of Colbert, Okla., Chase Winnett of Colbert, Okla.; great-grandson, Carter McBeth of Durant, Okla., and also survived by mother-in-law, Norma Embry of Denison, Texas.
Mrs. Embry was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wilma Jones; brothers: Alton, Eddie, David, Billy and Joe, and daughter, Christy Hawks.
Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2021, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
A funeral service to honor her life will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Jan Kelly officiating. Her final resting place will be the Kemp Cemetery in Kemp with Tracy Jones, Joe David Jones, Jeremy Jones, Jeremy Winnett, Will Winnett, and Ricky Embry as her pallbearers. Her honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Lewellen.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant, Okla.
