Brandy Hathcock

Brandy Lloyd Hathcock, 55, of Durant, Okla., passed away at Medical City Plano on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 due to complications from a brain AVM. Brandy was born Jan. 10, 1964 in Enid, Okla.

Brandy proudly served as Sergeant in the Oklahoma National Guard for five years until he was medically discharged. He was a beloved father, son and brother to six siblings and he spent all of his time caring for others.

In his free time, he volunteered for local nursing homes and hospitals and received a distinguished award from Parkland Hospital in Dallas for more than 5,000 hours of volunteer service. He was an avid outdoorsman and a practical joker with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and bringing joy to everyone around him.

Brandy is survived by his high school sweetheart and partner, Myrla Gooden and her son William; parents Judy Hathcock of Bokchito, Okla., and John Hathcock and wife Susan of Tushka, Okla.; sons, William Hathcock and wife Jayla of Denison, Texas, and Chris Hathcock and wife Brandy of Durant, Okla.; brothers, Clinton Bridges and wife Michelle of Magnolia, Texas, Anthony Hathcock of Durant, Okla.; sisters, Gina Weaver and husband Donald of Colbert, Okla., Scarlett Eldridge and husband Gary of Bentley, Okla., Vicki Anderson and husband Ronald of Oklahoma City, Okla.. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Koston, Koda, Vincent, Christopher and Allison Hathcock and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dee and Eleanor McCuan and brother Corey Bridges.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation in Brandy’s name.
