Boswell man killed in two-vehicle accident

GRANT – One man was killed and two injured in a two-vehicle accident in Grant on Monday night.

At about 10:57 p.m., Dakota Hoff, 23 of Boswell, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet north on US Highway 271 and attempting to make a left turn, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. That vehicle was struck by a southbound 2009 Chevrolet, driven by Dometric Hickson, 30 of Hugo.

Hoff was transported to Paris Regional Hospital in Paris, Texas with head injuries where he was treated and released.

Joshuwa Jaynes, 25 of Durant, a passenger in Hoff’s vehicle, was transported to Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo with head injuries. Jaynes was treated and released.

Another passenger, Jarrod Harvey, 23 of Boswell, was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries.

Hickson was not injured.

Seat belts were equipped in both vehicles. Only Hickson’s seat belt was in use, according to the report.

The report also stated that there was an odor of alcohol with Hoff.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, Choctaw County EMS, Hugo Fire Department and Grant Fire Department.
