Bobby Dwayne Hampton of Bennington, Okla. passed from this life on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the age of 88. He was born on Friday, January 31, 1936 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Lewis Virgil and Mary Mae (Dodd) Hampton.
He loved animals, especially dogs. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, playing the guitar, and listening to George Jones. He was a good man and loved his children very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Virgil and Mary Mae (Dodd) Hampton; ex- wife and special friend Mary Joyce Hampton and son Lewis Hampton.
Survivors include his daughters: Janet Hampton of Calera, Okla., Laquita “Totsie” Hampton of Durant, Okla., Sharla Curtis of Bennington, Okla.; stepchildren: Melissa Langston of Ardmore, Okla., Tammy Tharp of Denison, Texas, Fleetie Bray of Calera, Okla.; wife Fleeta Joyce Mairs of Kenefic, Okla.; brother, Gene Hampton of Calera, Okla.; sister, Linda Joy McWilliams of Bennington, Okla.; numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Old Church Cemetery in Bennington, Okla., with Bro. Raymond Humphrey officiating. Buck Webb, Michael Wall, Lance Hampton, Bobby Jack Boydstun, Sharla Curtis, and Totsie Hampton will serve as pallbearers.
