Blood drive to be held in honor of Rhonda Clouse

Release

A special BFF (Best Friends Forever) Blood Drive is set for Thursday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in The Black Box Theater at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library, 1515 W Main Street, Durant, Oklahoma.

The BFF Blood Drive is for Rhonda Clouse, a long-time Bryan County blessing. For many years, she provided outstanding customer service and ad campaign professionalism to advertisers with both the Durant Democrat and KSEO/KLBC Radio. She was also very active as a volunteer, serving in many capacities with the chamber, Bryan County RSVP, and with her church.

“The past year has been challenging for my most cherished friend,” said Shauna J. Smith, Rhonda’s BFF who is heading up the drive with OBI (Oklahoma Blood Institute) and the Library. “Rhonda has had seven strokes, one heart attack, her kidneys are struggling to work, and she has been going to the hospital every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks for blood transfusions,” Smith said. “Over the years I have seen her do so much for so many, including me; and I simply wanted us all to have a chance to do something special for her and raise awareness of the life saving importance of being a donor.”

OBI is providing t-shirts to donors with three unique designs to choose from. There will be door prizes for all, pizza and print ads provided by Thrivent Financial Team, show tickets to the Feb. 9-11, 2018 “An Affair of the Heart”, and more!
