Betty Jo (Trent) Morris passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at her granddaughter, Buffy’s house in her sleep at the age of 88. She was born on April 6, 1933, in Mead, Okla., to Fred and Tina “Tiny” Trent.
Betty loved to dance. She would never turn down the opportunity to two-step to Hank Williams or Patsy Cline. Betty also was a great cook! Everyone always looked forward to ‘Chicken and Dumplings’ night at Granny’s house. Prior to her husband’s passing, Betty and Wilburn spent their days gardening and playing music on their porch. She was a member of the Mead Baptist Church for over 25 years.
Betty lived in Fort Worth, Texas while her husband worked for the railroad. Upon his retirement, the two settled down in Oklahoma. One of her most proud accomplishments is living to see five generations. She never passed up an opportunity to tell anyone willing to listen. Betty loved her family and always enjoyed when they were able to all get together and spend time with her. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Left behind to cherish Betty’s memory are her granddaughters, Buffy Day and husband Jon of Ft. Worth, Texas; great-granddaughters, Faith Hill of Mead, Okla., and Rae Hill of Mead, Okla., Brooke Weibe and husband Zach, Ashley Whitaker and husband Scott; great-great-granddaughters, Crosby Whitaker, and Emrie Weibe, along with her son in law Bob Hill of Mead, Okla.
