Bert Aschenbeck

Bert Thomas Aschenbeck, of Silo, Okla., passed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born on Wednesday, September 13, 1933 in Cameron, Texas, to Theodore Henry and Ida Mae (Spence) Aschenbeck.

He married Helen (McKenzie) Aschenbeck on April 6, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas. Together they were married for 62 years. Bert and Helen together were baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1960 and faithfully served their God Jehovah for 60 years at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served in the United States Marines and in the Korean War.

He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, traveling and being with his children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (McKenzie) Aschenbeck; parents, Theodore Henry and Ida Mae (Spence) Aschenbeck; son, Tommy Aschenbeck; grandson, Pacer Aschenbeck; great-grandson, Preston Torres; brothers, Jack Aschenbeck, TJ Berger, Robert Pounds; sisters, Margie “Myrtle” Humble, Patsy Walker, Edna Berger and Linda Rumsey.

Survivors include his daughters, Ann Evans of Silo, Okla., Dena Torres of Sherman, Texas; son, Darrell Aschenbeck of Pottsboro, Texas; sisters, Diana Neighbor of Fort Worth, Texas, Nina Wagner of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal, Bubba, Meggan, Richie, Garrett, Shelly, Brandy, Saint, Ashley, Cord, Cody; special aunt, Eula Foote; wonderful sister-in-law, Ruby Tingle as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Okla. with the family officiating. Saint Torres, Ashley Torres, Cord Aschenbeck, Cody Aschenbeck, Robert Torres, Billy Landers, and Gerred Williams will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Landen Torres and Tyler Cash Torres.
