Benny Howard Taylor passed from this life on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 58. Benny was born Monday, February 22, 1965 at Lawton, Oklahoma, to Jimmy Lee Taylor and Ochrisia Ann (Howard) Taylor.
Benny grew up and attended school in Kingston. He worked as a butcher at slaughter houses most of his life and worked on vehicles on the side. Benny loved to go fishing, camping, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners football and couldn’t wait till the season begins. Benny also enjoyed the company of his rat terrier puppy Poochie and chihuahua Moo Moo. He was of the Baptist faith.
Benny was preceded in death by his father in 2000; his mother in 2003; brothers, James in 1982 and Jimmy in 2020; and nephew, Cody Eaves in 1997.
Benny is survived by his sons, Calvin Taylor and wife, Desiree of Green Forest, Arkansas, and Benny B. Taylor of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; daughters, Gracie Ferch and Katelynn Rieger of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Christie Overall and husband, Austin of Green Forest, Arkansas, Danniella Taylor of Madill, Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Taylor of Green Forest, Arkansas; two sisters, Peggy Chill and husband, Roy of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Judy Bond and husband, Randy of Durant, Oklahoma; one brother, Kelly Taylor and wife, Patty of Green Forest, Arkansas; nine grandbabies and one great grandbaby.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Hainline Cemetery located at Texoma Park Road in Kingston, Oklahoma. Mr. Randy Bond and Chaplain David Kautt will be the speakers. Casket bearers will be Bradley Jo, Jimmy Taylor Jr., Cameron Smith, Randy Bond, Jeremiah Bruce, and Roy Chill. Honorary casket bearers will be Benny French and Isaiah Bruce.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Brown’s Funeral Home.
