Beauchamp, Clark sign to play softball at the next level

BRYAN COUNTY – Two of Silo’s Lady Rebel softball players on Thursday signed their intent to play the sport at the next level.

In front of peers and teachers in the Silo gymnasium, Avery Beauchamp and Makayla Clark had their families with them to publicly declare their college choices.

Beauchamp will be heading to Murray State College in Tishomingo in the fall.

“It’s super exciting,” Beauchamp said. “It’s like rewarding that all the work I’ve put in has finally paid off.

“I’ve played softball my whole life. And then around 10U, I started played travel ball. And ever since then, it’s just kind of been one of those things you work for. That’s kind of the goal of why you play travel ball is to go and one day play college ball.”

While Clark will be attending Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.

“It feels great and I’m just very thankful and blessed that I have this opportunity to go on and play college softball,” Clark said.

“Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to go on and play college softball. So it’s a great opportunity that I get to go on and play for at least for two more years.”
