Barbara Heckford passed from this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 27 days. Barbara was born on Saturday, June 14, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Glenn Loften and Esther (Bacon) Loften.
Barbara came to Durant in 2021 from St. George, Utah to live with her daughter Kathleen. Barbara was married to Gerald Heckford for 25 years until his passing in 2020. Together, they owned and operated a bulk bag company for many years. Barbara was a devoted Catholic member and her interests were horses and quilting.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; mother, Esther Hunter; father, Glenn Loften; daughter, Kimberly Krall; a son, William Krall; and a sister, Joyce.
She is survived by her brother, Michael Spencer and his wife, Angie of San Diego, California; daughters, Kathleen Dudek and her husband, William of Durant, Oklahoma, and Jackie Falco of Biloxi, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Barbara’s wishes were to be cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
