Born on October 7, 1932, in Atoka County and Bryan County, Oklahoma, Alvin’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community.

Alvin grew up amid the rolling fields of Atoka County, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. He attended local schools, where he not only achieved his high school diploma but also formed lifelong friendships and discovered his love for sports. He carried this love throughout his life, often found cheering on his favorite basketball, baseball, and football teams, and little league baseball.

A true servant of Christ, Alvin was an active member of his church, Robinson Baptist Church, living his faith through his actions and words. His commitment to his Savior was evident in the way he raised his family, treated his friends, and interacted with his neighbors. He led by example, showing kindness and compassion to all he met, and was a source of wisdom and strength for those around him.

Alvin was a cherished patriarch, survived by his son, Kevin Franklin; his daughter, Ladonna Lawrenson and her husband Mark; his grandchildren, Jordan Franklin, Jessica Gordon and her husband Tyler, and Jeremy Franklin and his wife Rachel, Naomi and Luke Culley, and Luke Lawrenson.

Alvin was predeceased by his beloved wife, Syble, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and love. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brothers AJ, James, Bob Franklin, his sisters Louise and Pat, and grandson Benjamin Lawrenson. Each family member held a special place in his heart, and he left behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire them.

His final days were spent in Durant, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. Alvin’s life was a journey of faith, family, and friendship, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
