DURANT – For 23 years, Abundant Life Texoma has been supporting mission work in Mexico. Through giving – monetarily and materially – the church has been able to uplift and support many Christian works in the country.
Near Spring Break time each year, A.L.T. sends a group to various parts of the country to bring hope and goods to many local works and individuals.
This year, among the ways the church is raising money for goods and more to be sent to Mexico, there will be a yard sale. It is set for Saturday, Mar. 3 in the church’s annex. Entrance to the annex is through the back (west) parking lot.
Pastor Chuck Barrineau said there will be things at which to look over at the event.
“You name it, it will be there,” Barrineau said. “We’ve got stuff from furniture to clothes to household items. We’ve got a plethora of stuff.”
The Mexico Missions work is something that has become an integral part of what the church is all about.
“It’s so engrained in our church,” Barrineau said. “Our folks look forward to it every year. They look forward to hearing what God’s doing down there. We give throughout the year to different endeavors.
“We just finished building a church building. We could go on for days talking about all that God has done.”
That new church building is located at Tamazumchale, a small pueblo up in the mountains, somewhat close to Veracruz.
The yard sale on Saturday will start at about 8 a.m. and run until noon.
