Lennis Delene Frederick

Lennis graduated from Atoka High School and stayed at home taking care of her family. She married the love of her life, Robert F. Frederick in Sherman, Texas on Feb. 25, 1949. The couple spent 44 wonderful years together before Robert’s passing in May 1993.

A member of Silo Baptist Church, Lennis loved her church family and being involved in the community. She spent her time talking on the phone with friends and making sure her family was taken care of.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard E. and Florence Sheffield; son, Tom Frederick; siblings, Leonard Sheffield, Clyde Sheffield, and Raymond Sheffield.

Survivors include her two sons: Robert L. “Bob” Frederick and wife Kay of Atoka, Okla., Bruce Frederick of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Jeff Frederick of Frisco, Texas, Ashley Harkey and husband Russell of Durant, Okla., Sara Kellam and husband Patrick of Norman, Okla., Rob Frederick and wife Rannde of Durant, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Tre Frederick, Addison Harkey, Kenton Harkey, Max Kellam, Madilyn Kellam, and Raegan Frederick; siblings: Curtis Sheffield, Doyle Sheffield, Dorothy Fink, Barbara Broome, Larry Sheffield, Jack Sheffield, and Forest Sheffield, along with other extended family members and dear friends.

Services to honor Lennis’s life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Bro. Forest Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Jeff Frederisk, Rob Frederick, Russell Harkey, Patrick Kellam, Tre Frederick, and Max Kellam serving as pallbearers.
