A lifetime Bryan County resident, she attended Caddo Public Schools until she started staying home to help take care of her family. Later, she was employed at the local toy factory where she retired after 35 years. Wanda married Charles Walter Lamar on Oct. 10, 1952. They spent 62 wonderful years together until his passing in 2014. She was a member of Mead Baptist Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, listening to country music, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Alan and Ethel Gordon; husband, Charles Walter Lamar; sisters, Patsy Trammell, Dorothy Templeton, and Joyce Kelly.
Loved ones left to cherish Wanda’s memory include her two sons Darrell Lamar and wife Marcy and Charles Lamar and wife Katie; grandchildren, Darrell Lamar Jr., Joshua Taylor, Lucas Taylor; great-granddaughter, Laylah Lamar; one sister, Gaynell Randolph and other extended family members and dear friends.
Graveside services to honor Wanda’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 at Fort Washita Cemetery with Pastor Kerry Groce officiating.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
