Brenda lived in Texas for a while and attended Springlake/Earth School. She married Jimmy Ray Roberson on Aug. 20, 1965 in Springlake, Texas. They spent 47 wonderful together, until his passing in 2012. She has lived in Bryan County for 48 years and was a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Calera. Brenda was employed as an assembly line worker at Ruiz Foods and JC Potter for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church services.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Edwin and Martha Townsend; great-grandson, Blayden Ray Roberson and brother, Jerry Lynn Townsend.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Toby Roberson and wife Charity of Calera, Okla.; two daughters, Cindy Shinault and husband Charlie of Sherman, Texas and Tonya Hampton of Durant, Okla.; brother, Eddie Townsend and wife Gayle of Mead, Okla.; sister, Janice Watson and husband Buster of Calera, Okla.; grandchildren, Preston Sean, Chad Ray, Casey Wayne, Harley Ray, Cheyenne Selby, Tabi Ilene, Caleb Shinault, Collin Shinault, Lacy Roberson, Madison Hampton, and Logan Hampton; 20 great-grandchildren and many other extended family members and dear friends.
Services to honor Brenda’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at New Life Assembly of God in Calera with Bro. David Sanders officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Brenda’s grandchildren. The family will accept friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
