Shirley Ann Atteberry of Durant passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at the age of 64. She was born on Saturday, February 6, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She came to Durant from Oklahoma City in 1973.
She was preceded in death by her kids father Dave Atteberry; mother, Rosa Lee Phipps; grandson Danny Lee Vandenburg, Jr.; son-in-law Ricky Barnett and numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters Angel Barnett and husband Tony Mullen of Yarnaby, Okla., Brandy Vandenburg and husband Danny of Durant; son, Dave Atteberry, Jr. of Durant; grandsons, Bobby Atteberry of Durant, Tyler Barnett and wife Kayla of Willis, Okla., Clayton Vandenburg and wife Britney of Caney, Okla.; great-grandchildren Ryder, Kaisley, Kenlyn and Rowdy Barnett of Willis Okla., Nolan Dudley and Joslynn Annalee Vandenburg of Caney; fur babies Chloe and Prissy of Durant; sister-in-law Carla Phipps Bono of Wagoner, Okla. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a private caregiver for many years. She was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed gardening flowers and her favorite flower was the red rose, playing Yahtzee, fishing and going to Choctaw. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Father Randall Fogle will be officiating. Tony Mullen, Danny Vandenburg, Tyler Barnett, Clayton Vandenburg and David Robinson will be serving as pallbearers and Dave Atteberry, Jr. and Bobby Atteberry will be honorary pallbearers.
A family hour will be held from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Gordon Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at the Monterey Chapel, 224 S. Ninth Ave., Durant, followed by a graveside interment at the Yarnaby Cemetery in Yarnaby, Okla.
