Dylan Ray Guajardo, 22 of Earlsboro, Okla., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 in Bokchito, Okla. He was born in Houston, Texas to Julie (Guajardo) Owings on Oct. 19, 1995.
He attended Ashford Elementary, Shadowbriar Elementary, and Westbriar Middle School all in Houston, then moved to Bennington and attended high school there. He then moved back to Houston to attend Westside High School.
While in school, Dylan had Gifted and Talented classes first thru sixth grade. In second grade, he was reading at a seventh grade level, and in fifth grade he was reading at a twelfth grade level. Dylan got a commendation for making a perfect score I third grade on his HISD TAKS standardized testing. At Westside High School in tenth grade, he took his PSAT tests and qualified for six college level AP courses- Art History, Human Geography, English Language, Psychology, European History, and U.S. History, and he was deemed capable of meeting the challenges presented by AP course work. He later became an Industrial Electrician.
Dylan loved life and to hang out with his friends. He loved “Merica”, making people happy, and muddin’. Dylan loved his nieces, thought of them all as his little sisters, his sister and his mother, and he was also a Christian.
Dylan is preceded in death by grandparents and an uncle Andrew Guajardo.
Dylan is survived by his sister Stephanie Sullivan and husband Cody of Earlsboro, Okla., mother Julie Owings of Shawnee, Okla., mom Sarah Thompson and husband Bill of Texas, brother Josh Weaver and wife Mary of Houston, Texas, nieces Bella, Zoey, Alana and Shelby Sullivan all of Earlsboro, brother-in-law Zach Hardesty of Bokchito, and best friend Parris Holland of Houston.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla. Bro. Monty Wood will be officiating. Condolences can be sent to www.brownsfuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.
