J.C. Ammons of Caddo passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at the age 88. He was born on Monday, July 7, 1930 in Caddo to Mack and Lola (Price) Ammons.
He served in the Army. He enjoyed farming, gardening and watching ballgames. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of the home; children Terry Ammons Brock and husband Ronny of Caddo, Joni Ammons Hopkins and Ken Hampton of Blue, Brant Ammons and wife Wendy of Caddo, Jason Ammons of Caddo, Kris Ammons Stepp and husband Dustin of Durant; grandchildren Alissa Ammons, Kylie Witt and Brandon, Jacoby Ammons and Trenna Wright, Bailey Anderson and Little, Tanor Ammons and Morgan Baker, Dani Looper and Ty, Laramie Hopkins and John Sasser, Rylee Dean, Jerney Dean and Emily Blackburn, Rowdy Stepp and Jastin Stepp; and great grandchildren Azure Ammons-Coxsey, Raiden Ammons-Coxsey, Tripp Monroe Ammons, Clancy Franks and Kaylor Anderson. Brothers Mack Ammons and wife Lila, Bill Ammons and wife Carol, Carrol Ammons and wife Cleta; sisters Syble Franklin and husband Alvin and Maxie Franklin and husband Bob.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lee Roy Ammons, Docky Ammons; sisters Roxie Parks, Dorothy Parker and Susie Cates.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at the Caddo Gethsemane Cemetery. A Family Hour will be held 6-7 p.m., Wednesday at Gordon Funeral Home.
