Freddie Mitchell

Freddie Mitchell, who was born on February 19, 1948, in Durant, Oklahoma, and passed away on October 7, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a quiet, steady kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was the son of C. W. and Lorenda Mitchell, who preceded him in death, and he carried throughout his life the values of perseverance, responsibility, and respect that were instilled in him early on. Freddie grew up with a strong sense of duty and an appreciation for the simple, meaningful things in life. Those who knew him remember a man who was dependable, genuine, and sincere in all that he did.

Freddie made his living as an industrial salesman, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and his ability to connect with others. He approached his work with professionalism and dedication, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. He understood the importance of doing a job well and took pride in being someone others could count on. His years in the field were a testament to his commitment and his steady character.

Outside of work, Freddie found enjoyment in working on cars. He appreciated the hands-on nature of the task and the satisfaction that came from taking something mechanical and bringing it back to life. This interest was more than a pastime, as it reflected his practical mind, patience, and willingness to stay busy with something he loved. It was one of the many ways he expressed his talent and personality.

Family was central to Freddie’s life, and he treasured the relationships he built over the years. He is survived by his son, Heath Mitchell and wife Elisa. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, David Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, and Sierra Mitchell, along with his great-grandchildren, Daelan Mitchell, Remmy Mitchell, Zala Mitchell, Raven Mitchell, and Issac Mitchell. His family brought him great pride and joy, and he valued the time spent with them deeply. The love he shared with them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Freddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Edwards, whose memory remained an important part of his life. Together, they shared a bond that was meaningful and enduring, and he carried her memory with him with love and devotion. Their lives were joined by the experiences, memories, and companionship that only a true partnership can create.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Freddie will remember his steady presence, his hardworking nature, and the warmth that came through in his everyday life. He did not seek attention, but he left an impression through his character, his loyalty, and the way he lived with purpose. His life was one of quiet strength, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Freddie Mitchell will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for the life he lived and the love he gave. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 10:30 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera, Oklahoma.
