The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has announced that it will team with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Wilburton, Okla. to help those seeking VA services.
The “2026 Bringing VA Benefits Home for Your Hometown” Representatives of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s Veterans Advocacy Program will be on hand to answer questions about benefits and claims and assist veterans and their widows/widowers to file claims. Veterans can also receive free toxic exposure screenings.
This is open to all tribal, and non-Native military veterans, widows/widowers, and their families.
It will take place on Friday, Aug. 14, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Choctaw Community Center, located at 516 Center Point Road in Wilburton, Okla.
Attendance and all services of the day are free. Participants should bring their Veterans DD214 discharge forms, and if needed, marriage licenses, and death certificates.
