Lynda Faye Philpot departed this world from Eastland Cross Timbers Rehab and Healthcare Center in Flower Mound, Texas and entered her eternal Heavenly home on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the age of 82. Lynda was born on Tuesday, November 16, 1943 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to the late Rev. Edmond Philpot and Ina Mae (Hensley) Philpot.
Lynda was raised in Arkansas and came to the town of Stratford, Oklahoma as a teenager. As an adult, she lived in Durant for more than 40 years and was a faithful member of Abundant Life Temple church. She loved reading her Bible and enjoyed word search puzzles and playing Bingo where she resided at Cross Timbers.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Max Philpot and Joe Wayne Philpot; and brother-in-law, Larry Peabody.
She leaves behind a sister, Gail Peabody of Flower Mound, Texas; a niece, Christy Standefer and her husband Troy of Flower Mound, Texas; and a great niece, Sophia Standefer of Flower Mound, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, at Highland Cemetery in Durant. Mr. Scott Harper will officiate.
