Nestor “Jhay” “Jr” Marquez, 53, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his home. Jhay was born on May 25, 1972, in the Philippines to parents Ernesto and Gregoria Marquez.
He proudly served in the Philippine Marines for 11 years and later married Imelda G. Granado. They later came to the United States and began their lives together. Jhay owned rental property and was in the real estate business. He was of the Roman Catholic faith, and he enjoyed being a fixer upper, gardening, being a handy man, watching current news and had a love of music.
Jhay is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Imelda Marquez of the home; treasured children James, Mary Estelle, and Mark Jeremy Marquez of Durant, Okla.; sister, Grace Bernardo and husband Dong of the Philippines; brother, Edwin Marquez and wife Nancy of Quezon Province and numerous extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at St. William Catholic Church in Durant, Oklahoma. Fr. Carl Kerkemeyer will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Brown’s Funeral Service following the service from 4-6 p.m.
