Altha LaJean (Jones) Levins passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Durant, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 89. She was born on March 18, 1936, in Elmview, Oklahoma to Carlton and Altha (Wedge) Jones. She was married to Alva Leon Levins for 58 years and from that union their two children were born.
Jean loved arts and crafts and she was very talented. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and crocheting caps for Jeanie’s students. She was well known for her cake decorating and loved sharing her talents with others for birthdays and other occasions.
Jean is survived by her two children Jeanie Hazell and her husband Jon of Durant, Oklahoma, and Lee Levins of Bokchito, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kyle Hazell, Trey Bowman and his wife Madison, along with a great grandson Briggs Bowman, nephew Billy Drake, niece Kay Loper and numerous other family members.
Preceding Jean in death are her parents Carlton and Altha, one sister Joann Drake and one niece Karen Drake.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Burial will immediately follow in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
