Daniel Middleton

Daniel Jay “Dan” Middleton, 68, of Mead, Oklahoma and formerly of South Kansas, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Dallas, Texas with his family by his side. Dan was born on November 26, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late James William and Hazel Ann (Kirkpatrick) Middleton.

Dan graduated from Hickman Mills high school and later Southwest Missouri State University with his bachelor’s degree. He married Christine Ancona on January 18, 1991, in Miami, Okla., and they began their journey together that lasted almost 34 years. They moved to Bryan County in 2002 from Springhill, Kan., when Dan was transferred to his job with Cardinal Glass FG where he was presently working in purchasing. He and Christine attended Coleman Avenue Church of Christ in Colbert, Okla., and he enjoyed his horses, fishing, playing golf, and the rodeos. Dan deeply loved his family and treasured the time that he spent with them.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Liam FinnMicheal Kearney.

Dan is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Christine (Ancona) Middleton of the home; sons, Frank J. Kearney and wife Angie of Kansas City, Kan., Micheal Kearney and wife Kelly of Vilseck, Germany, James Carter and wife Elizabeth of Blue Spring, Mo., and Clinton Carter and wife Cassidy of Lawrence, Kan.; grandchildren: Shantell Briceno, Kellie Kearney, Cara Lynn Carter, Caden Carter, and Amelia Carter; great-grandchildren: Kyron Kearney, and Rosalie Anderson; sister Jamie Clark and husband Karl Whitacre of Greenwood, Mo.; brother Jim Middleton of Lee’s Summit, Mo. and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla. on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, December 29, 2024, at McGilley State Line Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo., from 4-6 p.m.

Graveside services and entombment will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, Kan. Pallbearers will be Jason Stone, David Hughes, Frank Kearney, Mickey Kearney, Clint Carter, and James Carter.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
