Margaret Belcher

Margaret Etta (Faulkenberry) Belcher was born on October 5, 1936, in Atoka, Okla., to parents Otis Lee and Susie Margaret (Grimsley) Faulkenberry. Margaret passed away on July 6, 2024, in Kingston, Okla., at the age of 87.

Margaret graduated from Atoka High School and later married Homer Lee Belcher Sr. on April 3, 1958. They raised their two sons in Denton, Texas and they were blessed with 61 years of marriage until Homer’s passing on June 11, 2019. She worked for Acme Brick Company for many years, and she was very proud of her job. Margaret was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, and she enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband in their RV, reading her bible, traveling with her husband in his gospel singing group, and she deeply loved her family, especially her grandbabies.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Belcher Sr.; parents, Otis and Susie Faulkenberry; siblings and other family: Joyce (Faulkenberry) Wills and husband Don, Jerry Burch, and Mary (Faulkenberry) Paige and husband Jerry.

Margaret is survived by sons: Steven Douglas Belcher and wife Sharla Kay, and Homer Lee Belcher Jr. and wife Sharon Joan; grandchildren: Lauren Leigh Hamilton and husband Michael Shane, Homer Lee Belcher lll, Christine Elizabeth Nguyen and husband Tony, Steven Douglas Belcher Jr., Devin Redford Pipes, and Sarah Marie Belcher; great-grandchildren: Brayden Michael Hamilton, Chloe Belle Hamilton, Elijah Douglas Clyde Hamilton, Mshai’Lynn Kay (“Shay Shay”) Hamilton, and Scarlett MaiVi Nguyen; siblings and other family O.L. Faulkenberry and wife Frankie, John Faulkenberry and wife Nellie, and Betty Burch and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla. Interment will follow in IOFF Cemetery in Denton, Texas, at 3 p.m. with Homer Lee Belcher lll, Steven Belcher, Tony Nguyen, Shane Hamilton, Brayden Hamilton, and Eli Hamilton serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearer will be Devin Redford Pipes. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
