Johnny Daniel Turman of Durant, Okla., passed away June 5, 2024 at TMC Bonham Hospital in Bonham, Texas. He was born July 5, 1934 to Andy and Maggie Turman. He married Zelma Hampton Turman on February 7, 1953 in Bennington, Okla. They had three children, Jerry, Larry, and Jeanna.
John was a butcher his whole life and he and his wife were the owners of John T’s Stop-n-Shop grocery stores.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma in 1990; his son, Larry in 2022; his parents and his two sisters.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Turman of Durant, Okla.; daughter, Jeanna Clemons and husband Clint of Bonham, Texas; grandsons: Cody Clemons and wife Amy of Pottsboro, Texas, Clay Clemons and wife Jessi of Bonham, Texas; great-grandchildren: Brynlee, Camden, Corbin, and Callee.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in the Highland Cemetery Pavilion.
Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant.
