Atticus Vincent Jim Brown was born on Tuesday August 31, 2021, to his mother Keira Renee Ruzicka and father Samuel Spur Brown in Durant, Okla. Atticus passed from this life on Thursday April 25, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the age of 2 years, 7 months and 25 days.
Atticus was adored by many, including his stepfather Kade Matthew Rider and his stepmother Emily Diane Bailey, younger sisters, Astrid Maeve Brown and Iris Jane Brown, grandparents, aunt, uncles, and any face that he’d meet. He always had a smile on his face. Among the things that he liked was The Bee Movie, having watched it a thousand times. He liked taking baths, playing with all his favorite toys, his squishmallows, sweet tea, and yogurt. Atticus adored his family and always loved to see them.
Atticus is survived by his mother, Keira Renee Ruzicka (Kade Matthew Rider) of Kingston, Okla.; father, Samuel Spur Brown (Emily Diane Bailey) of Armstrong, Okla.; sisters, Astrid Maeve Brown and Iris Jane Brown; grandparents, Mitzi and Jim Brown and Joey and Chanelle Bailey, and Misty Marie Garland; uncles, Creston Tom Brown and Jorian Christopher Dean Tubby; aunt, Tawny Jane Brown and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Atticus’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Monty Wood will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Samuel Brown, Kade Rider, Jorian Tubby, and Creston Brown serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Johnson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral Service and Crematory.
