Brent began his earthly journey in Durant, Okla., to Coy Dean Knight and Gwendolyn L. Burney (Poppe) on March 23, 1970. He was raised in Bokchito, Okla., where he graduated in 1988 with the Roughriders.
Through his life he enjoyed roping, fishing, trapping, hunting, horseshoes, playing quarters, dominos, a good dart game and raising hell any chance he could get. He was always full of jokes and sure to make anyone laugh in his presence. If you came across him without a left-handed cigarette and a beer, chances are you didn’t know him too well.
He loved his momma, oh how much he loved his momma. She stood by him, and he by her, through every trial/error, success and even in sickness. His mother was his saving grace here on earth and he felt that every day he had here with us.
In his life, he had four biological children, four stepchildren (along with many others that viewed him as Dad) and eight grandchildren that he absolutely adored.
Before being disabled from a work-related accident, he worked as a welder for many years which he loved and was damn good at what he did.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Momma Edna and Daddy Dan, as well as his father Coy Dean Knight.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Gwendolyn L Burney (Poppe), his children Mark Knight, Renee Kinkade, Christian and Marshaun French, Coy Knight, Gloria Diaz, Anthony Garcia, Angelina Budd, and Erica Bernard, his brothers Mark Johnson and wife Angie, Thomas “Tink” Johnson and wife Connie, his sisters Denna Wingfield and husband Scott, Tracey Conder and husband Terry as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that loved him beyond measure.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Bokchito Cemetery with Reverend Ross Phillips officiating.
