Ruth Nell Miller, 87 was born on May 29, 1935, in Boswell, Okla., the daughter of James Edward Gilbreath and Anna Mae Jones Gilbreath.
Ruth was a military spouse and lived in San Diego, California for many years where her beloved husband, Ernest, was stationed. She worked as a secretary in the military offices during their time in California. Ruth was a very talented artist and loved to paint and draw. Ruth and Ernest also owned a restaurant in Antlers, Oklahoma for a few years. Later in life she taught art classes at McLeod Honor Farm and to students of the Boswell Public Schools. Ruth loved telling stories and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Lee Miller and brother, Edward Leo Gilbreath.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Thomas Miller and wife Pamela of Pensacola, Fla., and Robert Miller and wife Jerrilea of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Freida Wall and husband Charles of Boswell, Okla.; grandchildren: Tracy and husband Darren, Rebecca and husband Anthony, Jennifer, Christopher, Jessica and husband Ryan, Robert “Robbie” and wife Aubrey; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Thommy Gilbraeth of Durant, Okla., and many other friends and family.
A graveside service in her honor was held on Dec. 9, 2022, at the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla.
