Wanda Lou Harris, longtime resident of Colbert, Okla., quietly slipped away to heaven with her son by her side at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 83 on December 9, 2022.
Wanda was born March 27, 1939 in Yuba, Okla., to James Calvin and Bessie Nina (Mitchell) Manry. She married Joel Edmond Harris on June 16, 1956 in Durant, Okla. She was a beloved role model and will be remembered fondly for her laughter, sense of humor and her enormous love for her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those that held her close to their hearts.
Wanda worked as a postmaster in Preston, Okla., for 25 years and upon retirement immediately moved to Colbert to begin spoiling her grandbabies. She worked tirelessly at this new position and did quite a tremendous job. In her spare time, she loved to grow plants and flowers, read and binge watch her favorite shows.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel; parents, James Manry and Bessie Manry Dodd; sisters, Pauline Clark and Dorothy Hoskins; brothers, J. C. Manry, Neal Manry, Jim Manry and Doyle Manry.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Ray Harris and wife Sharon of Durant, Okla.; daughter, Kim Young and husband Steve of Colbert, Okla.; grandsons, Tanner Young and Carson Young of Colbert, Okla.
Pallbearers are Ray Harris, Steve Young, Tanner Young, Carson Young, Eugene Harris and Paul Bishop.
Services were held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
