Clyde W. Andrews, lifetime resident of Bennington, Okla., Veteran of US Army and soldier of Christ passed away September 20, 2022 at the age of 87. He was the son of S.A. Andrews and Ella (Cross) Andrews, born July 21, 1935 in Bennington, Okla.
He married Jennie Walker Andrews on November 19, 1960 and they were married for 61 years. He was drafted in 1957 and served two years in the Army. He was on the rifle team, stationed in Germany. He was called back for 11 months active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He was baptized in Christ in 1973 and has been a faithful member of the Lord’s church since then.
He was a rural mail carrier for 40 years and raised cattle for 60 years. He loved riding in the pasture looking at his cows. He loved his family and helped his brother John raise a garden this past year. He was a proud father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S.A. Andrews and Ella (Cross) Andrews; sisters, Lucille Johnson, Virgene Andrews; brothers, Floyd Andrews and Steve Andrews.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie of the home; his five children: Danna Percell and husband Randall of Bennington, Okla., John Andrews and wife Kimberly of Kingston, Okla., Jason Andrews and wife Shannon of Aubrey, Texas, Jennifer Hodge and husband Ronnie of Caddo, Okla., Leslie Karn and husband Seth of Caddo, Okla.; grandchildren: Jessica Adams and husband Josh of Caddo, Okla., Andrew Percell and wife Janessa of Durant, Okla., Abby Percell of Durant, Okla., Baleigh Andrews of Fort Worth, Texas, Jenna Hodge of Caddo, Okla., Cade Andrews of Fort Worth, Texas, Adriene Percell of Bennington, Okla., Hanna Hodge of Caddo, Okla., Alexis Karn of Caddo, Okla., Addison Karn of Caddo, Okla., Katherine Andrews and twin brother Colton Andrews of Kingston, Okla.; one great grandson, Kutler Adams of Caddo, Okla.; five sisters: Bonnie Mize, Betty Carroll, Mary Robinson, Peggy Smith, Judy Conditt; one brother, John Andrews as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Caddo Church of Christ in Caddo, Oklahoma. A graveside service followed at the Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike Allison and Bro. James Snyder officiating. Clay Andrews, Mark Andrews, Todd Andrews, Chad Andrews, Phillip Conditt, Brian Conditt, Rodney Andrews, Jeff Andrews, Jim Robinson and Joe Robinson served as pallbearers. John Edward Andrews, Sammy Andrews, Terry Andrews, Richard Carroll, Dan Walker as honorary pallbearers.
