Eddie Eugene Scott was born n January 26, 1954, in Honey Grove, Texas to Loyal and Ester (Nickerson) Scott Sr. Eddie passed from this life on March 15, 2022, in Durant, Okla. at the age of 68. 
Eddie graduated from Honey Grove High School and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was a standout football player and was inducted into the Southeastern Hall of Fame for his accomplishments. He married Cynthia Ann Pearson on August 14, 1974, and to this union were born two children, Kenney, and Tiffany. They were united in marriage for 45 years until Cynthia’s passing on May 1, 2019. Eddie deeply loved his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; parents, Loyal and Ester and siblings, Mary Finney, Cleaester Phifer, Loyal Scott Jr. and William Scott.
Loved ones left behind to continue Eddie’s legacy are his children, Kenney Scott and wife Shelly and Tiffany Scott; grandchildren, Kristian Scott, Alexis Scott, Reece Scott, and Greyson Brumley; siblings, Gloria Boxton, Lee Scott and Lawrence Scott and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday March 21, 2022, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Lawrence Scott will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove, Texas with David Herron, Mike Herron, Jessie Morris, Morris Sloan, Dennis Lagow and Jerry Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Red Rutherford, Duke Christian and David Lawyer. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.
