Frances Moren Bates, a resident of Colbert, Okla., entered her eternal rest on March 2, 2022, at the age of 74. She was born on October 15, 1947, to Frank Carbajal and Cruz (Morin) Carbajal in Lamesa, Texas. Frances married her husband Charles Bates in Denison, Texas, on January 25, 2003.
Frances was a member of The River Church in Durant, Okla. She enjoyed tending her garden, camping out under the stars, cooking delicious Mexican meals for her family, singing, and shopping for bargains.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her beloved husband, Charles of the home; children, Ricky Onstott of Denison, Texas, Joey Onstott of Sherman, Texas, James Onstott and wife Nita of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Christina Florida and husband Brian of Colorado; grandchildren: Dustin Onstott, Miranda Onstott, Kaitlyn Onstott, Ethan Onstott, Ryan Burnett, Andrew Burnett, and Kelsey Davis; great-grandchildren: Jordan Reese, Easton Hall, and Greyson Curry and sister, Maclobia.
Mrs. Bates is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cruz Carbajal.
A funeral service in honor of her life will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant with Pastor Israel officiating. Her final resting place will be the Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas with her sons and grandsons as her pallbearers, with Joe Onstott as the honorary pallbearer.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant.
