Mary grew up in Kermit until the age of 14 when her family moved to Tishomingo. Mary is a 1973 graduate of Tishomingo High School. She would later attend East Central University in Ada earning her bachelor’s degree. Mary worked as social worker for the Department of Human Services for ten years and as an Educational Opportunity Counselor at ECU.
Mary loved her grandkids, making special memories with her family and reading her Holy Bible. She enjoyed playing card games, all board games and Farkle. Mary had a personal relationship with her Lord as her faith never wavered even when her health was declining. She had genuine caring heart as she took care of many family members as well as many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronnie and Joe Payne; and a sister, Katherine Payton.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Hinds and his wife, Melanie, of Atoka, Okla., and Jordan Maracara and his wife, Jennifer, of Tishomingo, Okla.; grandchildren, Keigan, Hailey, Levi, Gwen and Joad; sisters, Margie Sealey and her husband, Leonard, of Duncan, Okla., and Ruthie Payne of Tishomingo; and Johnny Payne and his wife, Larece, of Enos, Okla.; and numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service in Madill.
