James Stephens

James Wayne “Jamie” Stephens was a loving son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend. He passed away on February 14, 2022 at the age of 58.

James Wayne attended school in Corsicana, Texas and Durant, Okla. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

He followed in his father’s footsteps and drove a semi-truck for a while and later became a great mechanic. He developed a talent and love for working on semi-trucks and tinkering with anything he could in his dad’s shop. James Wayne could build anything you wanted and enjoyed art and making things out of wood.

James Wayne had a unique and valued asset – he saw the greatness in anything and anyone. Something that may be small or worthless to others brought him much joy and happiness because he saw past the “value” of it and instead truly enjoyed it for what it was. This is something we should all strive to have in life, his joy and love for others.

James Wayne’s love and pride for his children and grandchildren was where you could find his true passion in life. He loved giving, he loved life and the gratifications that came with it.

He took great pleasure in loud music, flashy cars, and fast motorcycles. His larger-than-life personality took him on some exciting journeys.

He lived life to the fullest, as if there was no tomorrow. He never met a stranger and loved to share stories about his grandchildren and his travels, to all that he met. His contagious laugh brought out the happiness in everyone.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life and was baptized at Victory Tabernacle. James Wayne loved the Lord and would speak of the day he would meet his savior. He felt comfort in knowing he was saved and was going to his forever home in heaven.
James Wayne’s unforgettable smile, laughter and compassion will be greatly missed and is forever indented in our hearts.
