James Gregory (Greg) Wade, 56 of Colbert, Okla., passed away on December 23, 2021 in Denison, Texas, after a year-long battle with cancer. Greg was born on April 14, 1965 in Denton, Texas to James and Daffin Wade of Frisco, Texas. Greg attended Frisco schools as well as Grayson College and Texas A&M Commerce. Following college, Greg made his home in Oklahoma on the family ranch.
Greg was a hard-working and loving father. His love extended to his farm animals and all of God’s creation. Greg had a real heart for taking in stray animals, and making those who may have felt lost or unwanted feel loved and at home.
Greg was quite proud of his two sons, Jared and Jordon. They shared his love of animals and followed in his footsteps of showing cattle in FFA. Greg was very excited for both sons to earn their masters degrees.
Greg had a servant’s heart as was demonstrated by his volunteer efforts at the local fire department and his church. He often checked on and took care of elderly neighbors and friends in need.
Greg is survived by his twin sons, Jared Wade of Howe, Texas and Jordon Wade of Colbert, Oklahoma; his mother Daffin Wade of Frisco, Texas; sister Drusilla Wade Newman (Jim) of Frisco, Texas; two nieces, Lauren Newman Burge (Ben) and Whitney Newman Brubaker (Chad); two grand-nephews, Lenox and Lincoln Burge, all of Frisco, Texas; and countless pets and animals.
The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29,2021 at the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Okla. with Interment to follow at Kemp Cemetery.
We know he heard Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Greg will be greatly missed.
Arrangements under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home.
